Cultivated Mulberry silk sliver is made from silk worms who live on a diet of mulberry leaves only, whereas tussah silk is from silk worms who eat a variety of leaves.

Mulberry silk is shiny bright white. (First Image shows best) Mulberry silk is pure white.

Tussah Silk also has a very long staple. It is strong, lustrous and more resilient than cultivated 'white' silks. Foxglove Tussah is a honey shade, bleached is a creamy white shade. Tussah from Ashford is naturally soft beige and is from silkworms fed on Oak leaves.
